Prologue:  The Weight of the Stars

Long before the sun kissed the hills of San Luis, Durango, Mexico, the stars were already whispering.

They whispered of change. Of old promises kept in silence. Of three brave souls racing across galaxies, chasing light through a tear in space and time.

A soft breeze danced over the arid soil as Estrella stepped out of the weathered bus, her boots hitting the dusted road just outside the village. The air smelled like earth and memory—like a place untouched by time. She had come in search of a distant star—one that shimmered inside her dreams, one that called her here for reasons she didn’t yet understand. Something had summoned her to this land. Something ancient.

As the sky deepened into hues of navy and ink, Estrella tilted her head upward. There—far beyond the silver threads of the Milky Way—a streak of brilliance burst across the firmament. Not a comet. Not a shooting star. It pulsed like a heartbeat. Controlled. Deliberate.

She held her breath, sensing that whatever had just crossed the sky was alive.

Look Inside: DeLion: Beyond the Stars

Far from her, beyond the quiet village and deep in the forest where shadows wore the shape of beasts and myths, three beings emerged from the shimmer of stars—small, agile, and cloaked in the soft dust of a long voyage. They were not of this land, yet they belonged to it more than most.

Charlie, the fearless trailblazer, had once wandered the mountains of California.

Thunder and Toto, loyal travelers from the evergreens of Wenatchee, Washington, had followed his call, drawn to the mystical crystals hidden near Mount Saint Helens. Together, they discovered a portal in the earth—a radiant tear woven between time and place. They stepped through it, hearts pounding with wonder.

And landed here.

In San Luis, Durango, Mexico. A place written in destiny.
